president, mahmoud ahmadinejad, denies that iran is building a bomb. so we asked david martin to tell us more. >> reporter: it looked like a cartoon, but it was deadly serious. israel's prime minister netanyahu drew the red line that would trigger an attack on iran's nuclear program as clearly as it has ever been drawn. >> a red line should be drawn right here, before-- before iran completes the second stage of nuclear enrichment necessary to make a bomb. >> reporter: that second stage is taking place at this underground facility near the holy city of qum, where iran is enriching your uranium to a 20% level of purity, one step away from the 90% needed to build a bomb. according to the latest report by u.n. inspectors iran has about 200 pounds of 20% uranium, roughly two-thirds of what it would need to build one nuclear device. at the current rate of enrichment, iran would have 20% uranium for one bomb in about 10 months, or as netanyahu told the u.n., by next spring or summer. after that, it would take just a few months more to enrich uranium to the 90% bomb grade level. netanyahu sai

his vision of a new world order with the u.n., iranian president mahmoud ahmadinejad kicked back and enjoyed a little western highlight. this according to the new york daily news. booking two entire floors at the posh warwick hotel in manhattan where a single sweet goes for $1600 a night. he even had three personal chefs on hand. and while ahmadinejad dined, his staffers were scrambling around town on a shopping spree. we're told they hit costco, walgreens, and duane reade stores stocking up on shampoo, vitamins, cheap clothes. items hard to found in iran. no word yet on how they got into costco because you do need a membership card. >> all the paper towels. how do you get those in the luggage back to iran? >> ironic. >> thank you very much, christine. a pizza that the kids are not allowed to eat. salvatore's, a chain of pizza shops in boston. do you know about these? serves a pie called the vignolla cherry pizza. made with fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola cheese, prosciutto, honey. all sounds delicious. but here's the kicker. it is topped with cherries that have been soaked in raspberry

some kind of deal. mahmoud abbas from the palestinian authority today was pretty similar to what ahmadinejad said. he said it's a campaign of ethnic cleansing, the palestinian people, by demolition of homes, prevention of construction, denial of services, and so on. the real sense i was getting, netanyahu barely mentioned any kind of peace deal today in his speech with the palestinians, you get a sense that the peace deal has never been further away. am i wrong to feel so pessimistic? >> well, it's understandable, people are pessimistic at the moment. the truth is, though, if we recharge this political process and got it back under way again, then the two-state solution which is the only solution, by the way, to the conflict, could be back on the agenda. but to do that, you need to have a framework of negotiation that's credible, because people have got to believe this thing will actually happen, and secondly, you've got to match the politics, if you like, the top-down political negotiation with changes on the ground that support the deal and don't go the other way against it. so
